— What book formats does Culicidae Press offer?
Most of our books are published as hardcovers (both case wrap and with dust jacket), paperbacks in a wide range of sizes, and as ebooks, in a variety of formats, that can be read on every commonly available device such as your desktop/laptop, Kindle, iPad, Nook and/or smart phone. We also started offering audio books in 2020. The available formats are listed under the cover image on each book’s webpage.
— What’s the best way to purchase Culicidae Press’ titles?
The best way to buy our books is through our website which offers discounts for local brick-and-mortar bookstores, libraries, and students with .edu email addresses (there are links on each book page). You can also order all of our books at Amazon or any other online retailer.
The fastest route? Click on a book’s cover image on the home page to see what versions are offered, and then click on whichever version you want to buy. We stock most of our books, and will ship small orders within two days. An additional button will be visible if an ebook version is available; ebook orders ship immediately.
If you have a favorite local bookstore that you think may be interested in stocking Culicidae Press’ books — or a college bookstore that you think should be stocking them! — please send us a note about who to contact and we’ll take it from there.
— How long does it take for a print book to get to me?
For purchasers in the United States:
If you order a print book, our fulfillment partners, Amazon, or others — will usually ship it to you within two business days of receiving your order. Within the United States you will be offered a range of shipping options at different prices. You choose between these options on the order form.
— How long does it take for an ebook to get to me?
If you’re ordering an ebook, the digital file will be sent directly to your desktop application or device/device app (Kindle Reader, iBook, etc.) after your credit card purchase has cleared, usually within a minute.
— Can the books be bought from places other than the United States? If so, how?
We ship globally and we accept all major credit cards through our Shopify, PayHere PayPal, and AmazonPay accounts. Our print books are distributed directly from us in Ames or facilities where they’re printed-to-order, which are located in the United States and abroad. Though for many of our titles the prices are listed only in U.S. dollars, you can pay using a credit card denominated in any internationally accepted currency; your order will be charged at the U.S. dollar price and converted to your local currency at the rate applicable at the time of the purchase.
For all non-U.S., non-European destinations, the usual mode of shipping is via the U.S. Postal Service international priority service. It is very reliable — but it can take ten or more business days for your order to reach you.
If you need the book more urgently, we can ship your order via UPS or FedEx, which is faster and more expensive. Prices and estimated times of arrival are available upon request, and we’re happy to answer any other queries you may have. Please write to us using our contact page.
— What if I don’t want to give my credit card number over the Internet?
If you live in the United States, just email us and we’ll tell you where to send a check.
— I’ve bought a book and now I don’t want it — can I return it for a refund?
Sorry, we don’t accept returns of print books, and we don’t give refunds on ebook sales. We can offer a refund only if the book you bought was physically defective.
— I would like to inquire about examination or desk copies. Whom should I contact?
