The Hudsonville Series

It’s tough as a teen — magic or not.

Fifteen-year-old Andy Kessler got his start late, after an unfortunate incident left his mother dead and himself, well, changing. Fleeing for fear of what he was becoming, he found himself in Hudsonville, a secluded valley where the Supernatural thrive.

Vampires, Werewolves, Xita and more, they all live in frail peace, hiding away from Humanity and its fanatical Natural Order.

But Andy’s arrival quickly draws unwanted attention.

Order invasions, pest infestations, home-front revolution and interlopers from beyond our dimension — they come in droves, one after another, the once-peaceful Appalachias spiraling towards annihilation.

Now, Andy’s forced to make one sacrifice after another in order to protect his friends and family. However, he’ll soon find that no matter how hard he tries, he can’t save everyone he loves…

Inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft, Rick Riordan, and Stephen King, HUDSONVILLE is an Urban Fantasy/Cosmic Horror series which tackles prejudice, revenge, love, and why it’s important to fail.

Aimed at teens and young adults, the series aims to deliver three fun, heart-felt, bite-sized adventures teeming with life and personality. Expect plenty of thrills, chills, cheers, and tears across this epic trilogy by debut author Stewart Chisham.

Illustrated book cover with bold, stylized lettering at the top reading “Hudsonville” in jagged yellow and brown text, with the subtitle “What Lies Beneath” in rough, off-white script below it. The scene is rendered in dark blue and purple tones, suggesting nighttime or an underground environment. In the foreground, a large, otherworldly creature dominates the right side: the creature has a mushroom-like head with a wide, toothy mouth and glowing details, a bulky body, and thick, segmented limbs. One large hand grips an object near the bottom center, partially obscured by shadow. On the left edge, a smaller character with large eyes and short, curly hair appears in profile, looking toward the creature. The author’s name, “Stewart Chisham,” is displayed in bold white letters along the bottom. The overall composition emphasizes mystery and tension, with dramatic lighting and high contrast between the glowing highlights and deep shadows.
