About the Author

Dr. Arvid E. Osterberg is a nationally recognized expert on safety and design standards for buildings and sites. He is a registered architect with a Doctor of Architecture degree from the University of Michigan, a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Illinois, and a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Illinois. He was awarded and holds the honorary position of University Professor at Iowa State University where he has been teaching for forty-eight years. He developed and continues to teach courses entitled Design for All People and Historic Preservation and was Co-Founder of the Preservation and Cultural Heritage Program in the College of Design.
